BMW 318 Missfire Continental MSD 81.2
ECU was bought to us with cylinder 2 missfire problem from a 2009 BMW 318i 2.0 petrol.
Customer had changed the COP and finally the coil loom before admitting defeat.

Upon opening the ECU and testing the IGBT drivers we found them to be in spec and working properly.
Tracing back to the next item in the chain, the pre gate driver was found to have intermittent output under load.
We changed the pre driver for one we had in stock and bench tested under load.
No faults were shown. We reassembled the ECU and was given back to our customer.
