These keys use a battery that is soldered onto the key fob PCB and are charged passively when the key is in the ignition. After doing several tests, battery failure was diagnosed. We desoldered the original battery and replaced with new. We also replaced the locking, unlocking and boot release micro switches for good measure. A simple job you could do at home with basic tools.
