BMW Z3 SRS ECU REPAIR (MRS3).
On further communication with the vehicle owner, we discovered that the vehicle had experienced a low voltage event, where the battery voltage was so low, on atempt to start the vehicle the system voltage dropped to below 9v, causing the data on the SRS EEPROM to be corrupted.
We dismantled the unit and read the data. We reconstructed the firmware data using a hex editor, then we variant coded on the bench. Once that was done, we checked live data also on the bench to make sure the unit was communicating properly.
Desoldered all of the test wires and refitted the PCB back into the housing.
