Corsa D Faulty ECU.

Every now and again, a job comes in where its so hard to believe how the hell has this happened. This is one such case from a local garage!

Corsa D Faulty ECU.

Yes, its the usual problem of water ingress again.

Customer decided to open the ECU in an unsafe environment, put oily fingerprints all over the PCB, then decided to remove the EEPROM……not by using an heat air gun…nope…..pliers. They used PLIERS to rip the EEPROM off the PCB. This damaged several pads and also some tracks in the hidden middle layer. These had to be painstakingly traced from source to destination and repaired with link wire.

On completon, a total application of conformal coating was applied to both sides of the PCB.

All in, a day and a halfs work!
