FERRARI MONDIAL NON START.

This vehicle was in storage for a year. When the owner tried to start, there was no ignition.

FERRARI MONDIAL NON START.

After looking at our factory wiring diagrams (in Italian), we set about testing the ignition system from key, to ignition module and finally onto the coils.

All was good, except for a poor earth on the secondary control unit. This was made good and the vehicle started, however running quite poorly.

We carried out further investigation with the vehicles injection wiring system.

The fuel pump starting relay, (not fuel pump running relay), was chattering while the engine was being cranked.

This pointed to the safety cut out switch on the air metering unit. The solenoid plunger was constantly trying to close, reducing the system fuel pressure.
