Kia C’eed Corrupt SRS ECU.

A company asked us to take a look at this SRS ECU. Symptoms were able to get comms with the unit on the vehicle, but DTC showing corrupt eeprom data.

On speaking to the owner, we found out that the vehicles battery had gone flat a week prior.

When the owner attempted to start the vehicle, the system voltage dropped so low that the data on the airbag ECU was corrupted.

We opened the unit, desoldered the EEPROM and made a full backup. We found the data to be too corrupt to put back together, so we flashed a virgin dump from our server. We changed the vehicles VIN with a hex editor prior to flashing the virgin dump.
