VECTRA C SIMTEC 75.1 ECU CLONE.

We have not seen one of these in years. Customer complaint was vehicle parked up for many years, on starting there was a DTC stored to replace the ECU.

This probably could have been resolved by simply reflashing the firmware, but our customer already supplied us with a replacement ECU for us to clone to.

After figuring out a bench pinout for this ECU, we set about reading both EEPROM and FLASH. 

We had to use 2 tools to achieve this.

On the replacement ECU, we used TECH2 with SPS to program the FLASH as there was an outstanding software update (still after all these years)!!!

Once the FLASH was programmed, we wrote the original EEPROM data (immobiliser) to the new unit.

The final step was to hex compare both EEPROMS from original ecu and replacement. As you can see in the photo, its a perfect like for like copy apart from the 2 bits for checksum.

Job done!
